1. Booking & Payment

• Full Payment: Full payment is required to secure and confirm your booking. No equipment will be delivered or made available for pick-up without cleared full payment.

• Price Amendments: Island Baby reserves the right to amend prices at any time. Pricing for confirmed and paid bookings will be honored.

2. Cancellations, Refunds & Amendments

• Under 48 Hours Notice: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery or pick-up time are strictly non-refundable and require full payment.

• Over 48 Hours Notice: Cancellations made with written notice of more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery or pick-up time will receive a full refund, less any applicable administrative or credit card transaction fees.

• Early Returns: No refunds or credits will be issued if equipment is returned earlier than the scheduled collection date.

• Ferry/Travel Disruptions: Island Baby is not responsible for travel delays or weather-related transport cancellations. Standard cancellation windows still apply; we highly recommend travel insurance to cover these instances.

3. Delivery, Collection & Timing

• Standard Windows: Standard delivery/pick-up is available from 2:00 PM onwards. Standard collection/drop-off must be completed by 11:00 AM.

• Pre-Approval: Your specific delivery/collection times and locations must be advised and approved by Island Baby in advance.

• Late Returns: Requests for hire extensions are subject to availability and must be formally approved in writing. Unauthorized late returns will incur a late fee equivalent to a full daily hire rate per day.

4. Equipment Installation, Safety & Use

​

• Manufacturer Guidelines: Island Baby provides clear, written instructions on how to properly install and use the equipment. It is the Hirer’s sole responsibility to read, understand, and carefully follow these instructions.

• Car Seat Installation: For safety and liability reasons, Island Baby staff are not permitted to install car seats into vehicles. The proper setup and secure installation of all car seats remain the sole responsibility of the Hirer.

• Appropriate Use: Equipment must be used strictly for its intended purpose. Strollers and pristine gear must not be left exposed to extreme weather, heavy rain, or salt spray, and should be kept clear of high-tide sand lines.

5. Equipment Condition, Cleaning & Hygiene

​

• Our Promise: Island Baby ensures that all equipment is delivered in an immaculately clean, sanitized, and fully functioning condition.

• Inspection upon Receipt: The Hirer must inspect the equipment immediately upon receipt and notify Island Baby of any pre-existing damage or missing parts within two (2) hours of delivery/pick-up.

• Cleaning Standard: Equipment must be returned in a clean and acceptable state (free of heavy staining, sand, food debris, or excessive mud).

• Staining & Sunscreen Note: Please use care with sunscreens, zinc, and tracking berries, as these can permanently stain fabrics.

• Cleaning Fees: If equipment is returned excessively dirty or requires deep fabric laundering, a professional cleaning fee of $50.00 NZD per item will be automatically charged to the Hirer.

6. Damage, Loss & Theft

​

• Hirer Responsibility: The Hirer assumes full responsibility for the care, security, and correct custody of the equipment from the moment of delivery/pick-up until it is safely returned to Island Baby.

• Liability for Repair/Replacement: In the event of damage beyond normal wear and tear, cosmetic defacement, loss, or theft of the equipment, the Hirer will be liable for the full cost of professional repair or complete replacement at current retail value.

7. Limitation of Liability

​

• Disclaimer: Island Baby accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury, accident, loss, damage, or death resulting from the use, misuse, installation, or setup of the hired equipment, to the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law.

8. Governing Law

​

• These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
